Last Saturday, the Catholic University Cardinals ended their season at 4-6 with a loss to Bridgewater College. Unfortunately, I brought a loss with me every time I came to photograph the team. Shout out to the seniors.

Catholic University and Washington & Lee Football: Under the Lights.
College football is usually reserved for Saturday afternoons but last Friday, Catholic University decided to play their first game in school history under the lights. I think the team and the fans were pretty excited about the nighttime event but we all know how I feel about football in the dark.
The Washington & Lee Generals were seemingly unstoppable with their option attack. I have never been a fan of the option because who wants to watch a bunch of running plays. But my goodness is it effective. This might be pretty obvious but there are sooo many options and it looks extremely difficult to defend. What do I know, I'm just a photographer. I do
know that I might start running that offense with my virtual Texas Longhorns.

Homecoming!: Catholic University vs. Hampden-Sydney
About a week ago I photographed the Catholic University football team during their homecoming match up against Hampden-Sydney. The game kicked off an hour after high noon, so the light was definitely not in my favor. But what the game lacked in light, it made up for in action. The Cardinals ended up losing a 35-27 shootout (read about it here) but tons of people packed the tiny college stadium. I was impressed. Shout out to Division III football.

Miss Me?
Long time no see, but I've been a little bit busy the past couple of weeks. Flights back and forth to Tampa and honestly not a whole lot of shooting going on in between. I snuck in a baseball game last week, a quarter final matchup between Gonzaga and St. John's. I was witness to two home runs during the game which were the first two home runs I've seen in all of my years (2) of shooting high school baseball. The game, held at Catholic University, was pretty good and came down to the wire. St. John's ended up winning 6-5.

St. Albans v. O'Connell @ Catholic
In another early season non-conference lacrosse match up between DC area high schools, St. Albans played Bishop O'Connell at Catholic University. Eh. O'Connell was in it until the third quarter when St. Albans unleashed a slew of goals late.
On a completely unrelated note...did anyone know that Louisville had a basketball and football hip hop fight song? Shout out to Catholic U for jacking the song and playing it at their events because they happen to have the same mascot as Louisville (cardinals) and shout out to Code Red.
